LAGRANGE -- Gladys Davis Moye, 81, LaGrange, passed away Friday, Sept. 28, 2012.

Gladys was born June 27, 1931, in Wilson County to the late William Thomas Davis and Ola Mae Pridgen Davis.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Gladys diligently served the Lord wherever needed. She was a former member of LaGrange Church of God, and was currently a member of New Hope Church of God.

For more than 30 years she ministered to people at LaGrange Gardens (Britthaven) Nursing Home.

Gladys enjoyed cooking, baking, crochet, writing poetry and especially enjoyed time spent with her family.

A service of remembrance will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bobby Williams, the Rev. Billy Sullivan and the Rev. Harold Anderson officiating. Interment will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery.

Gladys is survived by three sons, Preston Moye of LaGrange, Terry Moye of LaGrange and Tim Moye and wife, Jo Anne, of Kinston; six grandchildren, Mark Moye and fiancee', Allison, Wendy Martin and husband, Jonathan, Raegan Hill, Ian Moye, Brandon Moye and Spencer Moye; four great-grandchildren, Austin, Morgan, Breanna and Haley; four sisters, Estelle Wells of Wallace, Dorothy Garris of Wilson, Sally Alphin of LaGrange and Virginia Davis of Kinston; brother, George Davis of Burgaw; special niece, Patricia Garner; special cousin, Alberta Wells; and a special family friend, Claudia Kornegay.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service of remembrance, and at other times will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tim Moye, 2709 Picadilly Road, Kinston.
