SALLIE H. MYERS

GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Sallie Lee Howell Myers, 87, died Sept. 25, 2012, at Rolling Green Village.

Born June 1, 1925, in Pineville, she had been a resident of Greenville since 1959.

She graduated from Pikeville High School in 1942, and helped entertain troops at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base during World War II.

She worked in real estate for Crawford-Norwood Co. in Goldsboro.

A dedicated homemaker and wonderful mother, she was active in the Lake Fairfield Garden Club during the 1960s and '70s, and served as moderator of the Women of the Church at John Knox Presbyterian Church, as well as a circle leader. She was a member of the Agape Sunday school class at First Presbyterian Church.

Sallie was predeceased by her husband, James W. Myers Jr., with whom she celebrated 38 years of marriage; her mother, Clammier Roberts Howell; her father, William Franklin Howell; a sister, Frances; and brothers, Norwood, Linwood, Bobby and William.

Surviving are a son, Craig Allen Myers; a daughter-in-law, Angela Myers; a brother, James Howell of Goldsboro; two sisters-in-law; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in the Harper Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor.
