LUTHER "L.J." DANIELS

Luther "L.J." Daniels, 88, formerly of Dudley, passed away Friday at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir.

A service to celebrate the life of "L.J." will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating. As a veteran of World War II, "L.J." will be buried with military honors in Wayne Memorial Park following the funeral service. Family members will gather one hour prior to the service at the funeral home to greet friends.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Luther and Annie Lewis Daniels and husband of the late Norma N. Daniels. "L.J." was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church and was retired from the Arrington Volunteer Fire Department.

Mr. Daniels is survived by his children, Col. William Earl Daniels of Lenoir; Glenda Anderson of Chester, S.C.; Diane Vann of Rich Square; one brother, Conald Gray Daniels of Dudley; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
