WILLIAM EARL TOOMER

Mr. William Earl Toomer, 54, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Chicken," 1107 N. George St., Goldsboro, departed his life Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

William was born in Wayne County May 30, 1958, to the late Shirley Daniel Toomer and the late Johnny Toomer.

He was educated in the Wayne County Public School system.

Later in life, William met, dated, fell in love with and married Ms. Belinda Wynn, and to that union three children were born.

Also, "Chicken" was employed with Spitfire Aviation and Butterball LLC.

Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Chapel, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, with pastor Thelma Davis officiating.

Also, a public viewing will be held Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, at McIntyre Funeral Home and Florist, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, from 2 to 6 p.m.

Mr. Toomer leaves to cherish his loving and precious memories two sons, Octavion Toomer of Butner and William Toomer of Goldsboro; a daughter, Shashaunda Toomer of Raleigh; a grandson, Zyon Toomer, and the mother of Zyon, LaKale Sturdivant-Evans of Charlotte; a very close cousin/sister, Shirley "Sally" Jenkins, along with her three daughters, Akina Corder, Akilah Corder-Bell and Alisha Williams all of Goldsboro; an aunt, Sarah Hines and husband, Leslie, of Waco, Texas; an uncle, Sherwood Daniels, and children of Goldsboro; cousins, Johnnie Hines and children of Goldsboro and Virginia, Sandra Hines of Waco, Texas, Debra McAllister and husband, Kevin, and their four children of Allen, Texas, and Leslie Nicholson of Goldsboro; a rival football debater, Jamell Bell of Goldsboro; a special friend of Goldsboro of eight years (per Chicken, you know who you are); his biological sisters and brothers, the Newsomes; and a host of great nieces, cousins and friends.

At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence of Mrs. Shirley Jenkins, 407 Murray St., Goldsboro, where family and friends will assemble one hour prior, at 9:50 a.m., in preparation for the funeral procession.
