GREENVILLE -- Lyal Wayne Price, 71, Greenville, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012.
Wayne was born April 6, 1941, in Wayne County to the late Edgar H. Price Jr. and Florence Keel Price.
Wayne was a master carpenter who took tremendous pride in his work. He enjoyed a long career in construction, retiring in 2001 as a construction superintendent with WIMCO General Contractors.
He enjoyed helping friends with home improvement projects, and was a member of the Shifters Car Club of Goldsboro.
A service of remembrance will be held Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Rouse Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rick Mondell officiating. Interment will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Pineview Cemetery, Seven Springs.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 20 years, Shirley Cecil Price; five children, Lyal Wayne Price II of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Tracy Naylor and husband, Scott, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Anthony Wayne Price and wife, Jen, of Goldsboro and Lori Cutler and Angela Kesler both of Greenville; four grandchildren, Paige Naylor, Eric Naylor, Brianna Price and Brett Cutler; and brother, Thurston Price and wife, Betty, of Goldsboro.
In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by a sister, Minnie P. Dawson.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service of remembrance.
