WILSON -- Susan Mitchell Goodwin, 54, Wilson, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012.
Funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 100 Green St. N.E., Wilson, followed by visitation.
Susan was an active area artist, and was involved with the Wilson County Humane Society and For The Love of Dogs.
She was a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and East Carolina University.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie James Mitchell.
She is survived by her father, Leon C. Mitchell of Goldsboro; sisters, Carol Trout and husband, Skip, of Slidell, La., Harriet Sharpe and husband, Ken, of Richmond, Va., Emily Nobles and husband, John, of Morehead City, Anne Warner and husband, Dale, of Kinston, Kathy Hutcheson and husband, Jim, of Rocky Mount and Mary Margaret Brantley and husband, Juno, of Rocky Mount; stepson, H. Abbitt Goodwin Jr. and wife, Elizabeth Anderson, of Raleigh; and stepgrandchildren, Elizabeth Jennings Goodwin and Harry Abbitt Goodwin, III and Gray Goodwin.
