Lucille Carpenter Paugh, 96, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Lucille was born in Erbacon, W.Va., March 10, 1916, to the late James Winfred Carpenter and Minnie Bliss Tonkin Carpenter.

She was married to the late Victor Vane Paugh.

Lucille had worked many years as the cafeteria manager for Conehurst Elementary School in Salem, Va.

After moving to Goldsboro, Lucille became a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jim Harry officiating. Private interment for the family will be held Monday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Roanoke, Va.

Lucille is survived by her son, J. William Paugh and wife, Anne, of Goldsboro; her stepdaughter, Dorothy Lou Paugh Dennison of Roanoke, Va.; and her grandchildren, Andrew Cornwell Paugh of Charleston, S.C., and Mary Paugh Blackmon, MD, and husband, Kevin of Charleston, S.C.

She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, JoAnn Paugh of Roanoke, Va., and her sister, Wilma Carpenter Bizzaro of Cumberland, Md.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepson, Richard Wayne Paugh.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center at 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends Friday, April 20, 2012, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
