BARBARA H. DUNBAR

Barbara Head Dunbar, 70, passed away suddenly Thursday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Barbara was born in Wayne County Nov. 14, 1941, to Eleanora Kleinert Head of Grantham and the late Paul Norwood Head Sr.

For 33 years, and until Hurricane Floyd caused them to close their business, Barbara and her husband, Earl, operated Earl's Snack Bar in Goldsboro.

She later worked in the cafeteria at Southern Wayne High School.

Barbara was a longtime member of Falling Creek Baptist Church, where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

She was also a member of Grantham Grange and Woodmen of the World.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Falling Creek Baptist Church, with brother Billy Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

In addition to her mother, Barbara is lovingly remembered by her husband of 53 years, Earl Dunbar; son, Albert Earl Dunbar Jr.; daughter, Rhonda Ellen Dunbar Hartley; sister, Erlene H. Bryan of Goldsboro; and brothers, Eugene Head and wife, Linda, and Norwood Head and wife, Jane, all of Grantham.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Heather Otellio, Samantha Otellio and Angie Coker.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Falling Creek Baptist Church, 498 Falling Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at her home.
