MOUNT OLIVE -- Raymond Elias Brock, 87, died early Sunday, Jan. 29, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.

He is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Cherry and husband, Henry, of Mount Olive; a son, Raymond Brock and wife, Janice, of Mount Olive; a brother, Shelton Brock and his wife, Garnett, of Seagrove; two sisters, Shirley Pate, and Ann Potter both of Kinston; and a sister-in-law, Flora Royall of Goldsboro.

He is also survived by four grandchildren, Patricia Strickland, Jan Gregory and her husband, Brad, Travis Cherry and his wife Stephanie, and Janet Wiggins, and eight great-grandchildren, Rebecca Strickland, Katelyn Gregory, Hailey Strickland, Clayton Cherry, Emily Gregory, Trey Strickland, Reagan Wiggins and Hannah Cherry.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Daniel Brock and Alice Elva Hunter; his wife, Daisy Lane Brock; a brother, Daniel Brock; and a sister, Jane Riggs.

Raymond was a retired member of Oak Wolfe Volunteer Fire Department, a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and a member of Woodman of the World.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mickey Whitfield officiating, with burial to follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m., and at other times at the home of his daughter, JoAnn Cherry.
