RANDALL DAVID KING

Randall David King, affectionately known to his family and friends as Randy, was born Aug. 2, 1958, to the late Matthew David King Sr. and Charlotte Gills King Randall. Randy was called to his heavenly resting place Sunday morning, Jan. 22, 2012, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Randy attended the Goldsboro City Schools.

He was employed for many years as a maintenance technician for Wayne Community College.

Nov. 17, 1990, he was united in holy matrimony to Gwendolyn Williams. To this union, they were blessed with two children and a stepchild.

Randy was preceded in death by his father, Matthew Sr.; two brothers, Matthew "Matt" David Jr., and James William; three sisters, evangelist Edna K. Russell, Eliza Jane and Kaye Frances King; and a nephew, whom he took as a little brother, Michael Lee King "Disco Head."

Randy leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Gwendolyn; his children, Berry (Greta) of Greensboro and Paul and Sephara of the home; four grandchildren, Lomond and Daria of Greensboro and Twan and Zyrelle of Goldsboro; his mother Mrs. Charlotte King; a brother, Kenneth E. King of Georgia; three sisters, Mary (Robert) Stevens, Ella King and Karen King Waddsworth all of Goldsboro; in-laws, Bertha Ham King of Washington, D.C., Thurman London of Newport News, Va., and Eddie Russell and Beulah Pridgen of Goldsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, from 3 to 6 p.m. at E. M. Matthews Funeral Home, 401 N. William St., Goldsboro.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Greater Guiding Star United Holy Church, 1114 S. Slocumb St., Goldsboro.

Following the services in the sanctuary, Mr. King's delicate temple, along with his adored family, will be escorted to Old Mill Cemetery for interment rites.

Mr. King's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the King and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
