O.D. 'JACK' HUDGINS

Oswald Dorsett "Jack" Hudgins, 89, passed away Tuesday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

He was born in Sycamore, Ga., to the late Clifford and Margaret Hudgins, and was the husband of the late Emilia "Mil" Hudgins for 58 years.

Mr. Hudgins was a United States Army Air Corps veteran, having served as a medical technician, dental technician and a flight crew member.

A 1950 graduate of the University of Georgia, Mr. Hudgins earned a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural engineering.

He was also a retired Massey Ferguson district manager, and had also been the maintenance supervisor of Willow Run town homes.

Recently he had earned a Master Gardner certificate from the North Carolina Department of Agriculture.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with pastor William Ordelt officiating. Committal services will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Family members will greet friends Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hudgins is survived by a son, Daniel C. Hudgins and wife, Betsy, of Goldsboro; two brothers, Gregory Hudgins and wife, Marie of Sycamore, Ga., and Hilton Hudgins and wife, Louise, of Lake Wales, Fla.; a sister, Carolyn Clemmons of Tifton, Ga.; two sisters-in-law, Suejette Hudgins of Tifton, Ga., and Lalaouise Hudgins of Jonesboro, Ga.; four special great-grandchildren, Adam and Ashley Williams and Brantley and Cameron Ellis.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hudgins was preceded in death by a son, Timothy "Norm" Hudgins; two brothers, Dalvin and Donald Hudgins; and a sister, Daphnia Carter.
