Janet Holmes Sasser, 57, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at her home.

Janet was born in Wayne County Feb. 8, 1954, to Ruth Shivar Holmes of Mount Olive and the late Milford Holmes.

She attended Wayne Community College, where she became certified as a dental assistant.

Janet was serving as a bus driver for Charles B. Aycock High School.

She was a member of Nahunta Friends Church.

Janet enjoyed the outside, especially going to the beach, working with her flowers and watching humming birds.

She also got great pleasure in going to the mall with her daughter, and being pampered at the nail salon.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Eric Woods officiating. Interment will be Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at 10 a.m. in Pineview Cemetery.

In addition to her mother, Janet is survived by her husband, Eddie Sasser; her son, Jason Edward Sasser; her daughter, Amber Renee Sasser; her grandson, who was the apple of her eye, Hunter Allen Sasser; and her half brother, Haywood Adams and wife, Jo Ann, of Florida.

Janet also leaves her beloved canine friends, Rusty and Riley.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her half-brother, Allen Adams.

The family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and immediately following the service.

At other times the family will be at 487 Gurley Dairy Road in Pikeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society at P.O. Box 821, Goldsboro, N.C., 27533.
