GLADYS MITCHELL JONES

Gladys Mitchell Jones, 74, passed away Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
A native of Wilson County, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Didi Littleton Mitchell, and the widow of Robert Jones.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker and an avid bingo player.
A service to celebrate her life will be Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnny Pickett officiating. Interment will be Thursday, Jan. 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Newcomb Family Cemetery in Seven Springs.
Surviving are her daughter, Rebecca Faye Carter and husband, Dean, of Mount Olive; her son-in-law, Wayne Newcomb of Goldsboro; her grandchildren, Anthony Newcomb and wife, Dina, Joe Newcomb and wife, Christi, and Tammy Johnson; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a son, Bobby Glenn Brantham; daughter, Betsy Ann Newcomb; and grandson, Gary Dean Carter.
The family will receive friends following the service, and at other times will be at the
home of Wayne Newcomb, 869 Riverbend Road, Goldsboro.
