GERTRUDE B. BROCK

FAISON -- Mrs. Gertrude B. Brock, 83, 424 S. Forrest St., died at Wayne Memorial Hospital in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2012.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 20, at 2 p.m. at Faison Baptist Church in Faison, with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating, followed by burial in Brock Cemetery at Sarecta.
Visitation will be at the church during the hour before the service, and at other times at the home.
Mrs. Brock, a retired seamstress having been employed in several area garment factories, and more recently in the deli-bakery at Faison Piggly Wiggly, was a native of the Sarecta section of Duplin County.
She had been a longtime member of Sarecta Free Will Baptist Church, and recently had united with Faison Baptist Church after having been a Faison resident for many years.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 66 years, William Albert Brock of the home; five sons, Randy Brock and wife, Bobbi, Danny Brock and wife, Shelia, and Gary Mark Brock all of Faison, Vennie Brock of Middlesex and Michael Brock also of Faison; three sisters, Esther Brock of Sarecta, Irene Carroll of Wilmington and Belle Davis of Rocky Mount; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brock was preceded in death by four of her children, Phillip Doane Brock, Wanda Jane Brock, Shelia Annette Brock and Jennifer Michelle Brock; her parents, Ransom and Nancy Inet Brock; three sisters, Callie Brock, Eva Miller and Clarcy Jones; and three brothers, Ransom Brock, Needham Brock and Jack Brock.
