BEULAH MAE COLEY

Beulah Mae Coley was born April 28, 1931 in Wayne County. She entered into eternal rest on Monday, Oct. 10, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Mary Lois McCarter and James Cobb. She attended Wayne County Public Schools.

She married Charlie Coley and to this union they had two children. Beulah was employed by the Wayne County Public School System for 25 years. She joined Greater St. John Free Will Baptist Church at an early age and later enjoyed visiting different churches. Her hobbies were working in the yard, attending her flowers and her pets. She loved talking on the phone with her circle of friends.

She is preceded in death by two sons, infant Charlie Coley Jr. and Eddie Lee Coley; and one sister, Betty Whitfield.

She leaves to cherish her memories one brother, William Elton (Barbara) Carraway of Goldsboro; two grandsons, Shon and Audrey of Goldsboro; three nephews, Jerry D. Whitfield, William D. Whitfield, both of Goldsboro, and Gerald G. (Lisa) Whitfield of Dudley; three nieces, Mary Ann Artist of Silver Spring, Md., Theresa C. Washington and Wanda J. Carraway, both of Dudley; many brother and sister-in-laws, nieces and nephew-in-laws, loving cousins, great nieces and nephews and a host of good friends.

A visitation will be held today from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. A service of remembrance will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at St. John AME Church, 584 Pecan Road, Dudley, with the Rev. William McDow officiating. Following the services in the sanctuary, Ms. Coley's delicate temple along with her adored family, will be escorted to Wayne Memorial Park South in Dudley for interment rites.

Ms. Coley's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Coley and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
