DORIS ADKINS WILLIAMSON TAYLOR

LILLINGTON -- Doris Adkins Williamson Taylor, 89, Lillington, formerly of Selma, passed away Oct. 6, 2011.

Born in Cumberland County Oct. 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Authur and Mamie Barefoot Adkins. Her husband was the late Etheridge Taylor.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Blanche Ragan, Betty Axe and Janie Porter.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home in Selma, with burial following in Selma Memorial Gardens.

Surviving are her daughters, Ruth Alene Lewis of Lillington, Dotty W. Waters and husband, Gene, of Goldsboro, Nancy W. Morton and husband, Bill, of Tulsa, Okla., and Edith Brown Milano and husband, Fred, of Boone; brothers, William Adkins of Baltimore, Md., and James Adkins and Fred Adkins both of Fayetteville; sisters, Lettie Ragan and Jackie Miller, both of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Jenean Sasser, William Mondier, David Mondier, Eugene Waters, Mark Lewis, Crystal Bennett, George Brown, Gary Mondier, Hank Lewis and Bonnie Brown; 10 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Flowers are appreciated or memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
