WARSAW -- Donald Ray Best Sr., 81, passed away Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, at Duplin General Hospital.
Mr. Best was born July 20, 1930, in Sampson County to the late R.R. and Bettie Aman Best.
Mr. Best is survived by sons, Tony Randall Best and fiancé, Heather Moore, of Warsaw and Donald Ray Best Jr. of Warsaw; daughter, Jannell Vant of Franklin, Tenn.; brother, Rudolph Best and wife, Mildred, of Clinton; sisters, Hilda Faye Kornegay of Dudley and Effie Mae Williams of Goldsboro; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, at Community Funeral Home of Warsaw.
A graveside service will follow visitation at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011, in Faison Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clinton Church of Christ, P.O. Box 193, Clinton, N.C., 28329.
Community Funeral Home of Warsaw Inc. is handling the arrangements.
