David Marvin Littleton, 73, of 150 Falling Creek Church Road, died Friday morning at his home surrounded by his family and friends.

Funeral services will be held today, Sept. 18, 2011, at Falling Creek United Methodist Church at 3 p.m., with Pastor Bob Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

David was born in Wayne County on Sept. 3, 1938. He was the son of the late Marvin Alexander Littleton and Jessie Hood Littleton. A graduate of N.C. State University, David owned and operated Littleton Appraisal Service in Goldsboro for 28 years and after his retirement he began to work with Wayne Realty. He was a licensed real estate broker, a certified real estate appraiser and a licensed contractor. As a skilled appraiser, David was a member of the Society of Real Estate Appraisers. He was past president, vice president, secretary and treasurer of the Board of Realtors and was Realtor of the Year in 1974. David was a member of Falling Creek United Methodist Church, where he sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. When his children were young, David gave freely of his time as a Cub Scout leader and T-ball coach.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Littleton; his children, Lee Anne Littleton and fiancé, Chad Daughtry and his children, Rachael and C.J.; David Scott Littleton, Matthew Patrick Littleton, Wade King, Kevin King and wife, Hong, and Jennifer Miller and husband, Kris; and his grandchildren, Grace, Davis, Mara and Sophie. He is also survived by his sister, Vicky L. Parker and husband, Sam, of Grantham; his niece and nephews, Paul and wife, Cristy, Jason and Jessica; and his great-nieces and nephews, Skyler, Zach and Ajay.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann Laws Littleton, and his grandson, Aaron Scott Littleton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Falling Creek United Methodist Church, 299 Falling Creek Church Road, Goldsboro.

The family received friends Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
