ROCKY MOUNT -- Wilbert H. Hill, 86, Lenoir County native and a former Mount Olive resident, died Wednesday, Aug. 31.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with pastor Kevin Hudson and pastor Kevin Laughren officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Pinelawn in Kinston.

The family will receive friends at Tyndall Funeral Home Thursday, Sept. 1, from 7 to 9 p.m., and at other times at 3209 Jason Drive in Rocky Mount.

Mr. Hill, a veteran of the United States Army, was a retired truck driver.

He was a member of Grace Baptist Temple in Rocky Mount.

He is survived by his wife, Christine Alphin Hill; a daughter, Linda Faye Mizelle and husband, Horace, of Rocky Mount; a sister, Shirley Key of Woodland, Calif.; three grandchildren, Scott Mizelle of Rocky Mount, Christi Smith Huth of Savannah, Ga., and Timothy Mizelle of Panama City, Fla.; four great-great-grandchildren, Chelsea Mizelle, Brittany Smith, Amber Brantley and Tyler Scott Mizelle; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Haywood Hill; his parents, Gladys and Florida "Bitsy" Quinn Hill; and a sister, Hazel Seaman.
