ORA MAGEE-LEE

The Rev. Ora Magee-Lee was born in Drew, Miss., May 7, 1950.
Ora was a longtime resident of Springfield, Mass., before moving to Goldsboro, N.C., in 1998. She resided there since. With her husband at her bedside, she passed away Monday, Aug. 29, 2011.
Rev. Lee worked as a tax counselor for more than 25 years.
She was a graduate of Montgomery High in Louise, Miss., Dallas Mortuary Science Institute and Hartford Seminary.
In 1998, Ora became an ordained minister.
Her passion was public speaking on issues that were important to her. She spoke on such controversial issues as "civil rights," "bullying in the school system" and "the role of extended family in society" amongst several other topics.
She was kind, loving, thoughtful and a faithful servant of the Lord.
She leaves her husband, the Rev. Roy Lee of Goldsboro N.C.; three daughters, Shannan L. Magee of Ghana, Africa, Shanta L. Magee of Goldsboro, N.C., and Lamikco T. Magee of Longmeadow, Mass.; a godson, Antonio Williams of Queens, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Najja of Atlanta, Ga., Alana, Kavaughn, Israel, Zion and William of Goldsboro, N.C., and Joseph, Mahdia, Akilah and Jahkobee of Longmeadow, Mass.; two brothers, Willie K. Huddleston of Chicago, Ill., and John H. Huddleston of Longmeadow, Mass.; six sisters, Abby Hall of Clarksdale, Miss., Genevia Barnes of Gulfport, Miss., Sarah Knight of Gulfport, Miss., Mordia Jean Carter of Springfield, Mass., Camille Lizana of Baltimore, Md., and Rosemary Huddleston of Wilbraham, Mass.; an aunt, Olymphia Horton of Lexington, Miss.; an uncle, R.V. Price of Cleveland, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was predeceased by her father and mother, Columbus and Rozillia Huddleston; her brother, Curtis Huddleston; her sister, Della Willis; and her twin sister, Ora L. Gibbs. She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
A visitation will be held Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A service of remembrance will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at Western Assembly Disciples Church in Newton Grove. Following the services in the sanctuary, Mrs. Lee's delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to Atkinson's Cemetery in Bentonville for interment rites.
Mrs. Lee's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Lee and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
