LILLIE MAE MOORING OVERMAN

Died April 9, 2011

Lillie Mae Mooring Overman, 88, Nahunta community, passed away Saturday night.

She was the daughter of the late Arthur and Obelia Blow Mooring, and the widow of Worth Overman Sr.

Mrs. Overman was a beloved sister, wife, mother and homemaker.

She was a member of Nahunta Friends Meeting and Nahunta Extension and Community Association Club, where she had perfect attendance and held many offices during her 50 years of service.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

Mrs. Overman is survived by her daughter, Linda Hollis of Pikeville; daughter, Renee Gamble and husband, James, of Raleigh; son, Worth Overman Jr. of Pikeville; and sister, Louise Cunningham of Wilson. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jay, Drew, and Bryan Gamble, Christopher Hollis and wife, Mary Carla, Angela Hollis and Marsha Sauls and husband, Frank; and three great-grandchildren, Kristen Sauls and Elliot and Aaron Hollis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nahunta Extension and Community Association Club and sent to 2540 Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, N.C., 27863.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home following the Tuesday night service, and at other times in the home of Linda Hollis, 167 Bertie Pierce Road in Pikeville.
