Kate L. Parker, 85, died Saturday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Concord, N.C., and was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd M. "Jack" Parker.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
The family will be receiving friends immediately following the service.
Mrs. Parker is survived by her daughter, Diana Parker of Goldsboro; and nieces and a nephew in Concord, Charlotte and Southport, N.C., and Temple, Texas. She is also survived by many special friends who became her family, and special young men that she called her "honorary grandsons," Martin Netherton and Patrick Kornegay; as well as special young ladies who were her "honorary granddaughters," Louann Callahan and Lynette DePalma.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Southeastern Cancer Care, 203 Cox Blvd., attn: Tiffany, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
