VAE O. SAWYER

MOUNT OLIVE -- Mrs. Vae Outlaw Sawyer, 99, passed away early Monday morning at Mount Olive Care and Rehab Center.

Graveside services to celebrate her long and happy life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Steve Wicks officiating.

Mrs. Sawyer, widow of Charles Sepheus Sawyer, and daughter of the late Alex and Betty Garner Outlaw, was a retired child care provider.

She was a member of Mount Olive Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean S. and Morris Herring of Mount Olive and Peggy S. and Jim VanWinkle of Clarksville, Ind.; a sister, Cleone Feeny of Plymouth, Minn.; two grandsons and their wives, Eddie and Lynn Herring of Greenville, N.C., and Jimmy and Maren VanWinkle of Clarksville, Ind.; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey and Tyler VanWinkle and Brandon Herring.

Mrs. Sawyer was also the grandmother of the late John Charles "Chuck" Herring.

The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive.
