KENNETH LEE 'K.P.' PRICE

Kenneth Lee "K.P." Price, 76, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer's, went to be with his Lord Monday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family and friends.

Kenneth was born in Wayne County May 24, 1934, to the late David Price and Samantha Lane Price.

He had worked as a supervisor with Thurston Motor Lines for more than 32 years.

He was a member of Woodmen of the World for 55 years.

Kenneth was a faithful member of The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he ushered and greeted for nearly 40 years. He always greeted everyone who visited the church with a warm welcome. Kenneth will be remembered as a generous, caring, compassionate, hardworking man and loyal friend to so many. He had a great love for God, family and friends.

A service to celebrate Kenneth's life will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with pastor Bill Rose and his son-in-law, the Rev. Donnie Anderson, officiating. Interment will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.

Kenneth is survived by his devoted wife of 551/2 years, Ellena Jones Price; his daughters, Debra Gail Anderson and husband, the Rev. Donnie Anderson, of Danville, Va., and Tracy Jo Crawford and husband, Cameron T. Crawford, of Greensboro; his son, Kenthony Dave Price and wife, Rhonda, of Rosewood; his grandchildren, Rebekah Gail Barnes and husband, Cory Barnes, of Kannapolis, Airman First Class Kenthony Scott Price, stationed in South Korea, and Sarah Elizabeth Price of Rosewood; his great-grandson, Elighja Anderson Barnes; his brothers, Ray Price, Donald Price, Warren Price, Linwood Price and Carlton Price; and his sisters, Hilda Price Cotton and Billie Jean Jones. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lovie Holloman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the service at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and other times at his residence.
