RACHEL V. EDMUNDSON

PIKEVILLE -- Rachel Vinson Edmundson, 82, passed away on Friday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.
The family will receive friends Monday from 10 until 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Rachel's life at 11 a.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Craig Moser will officiate. Interment will follow in the Eureka Cemetery.
Rachel was born in Wayne County on April 23, 1928, to the late Leslie and Lizzie Vinson. She was married to the late William Edmundson. Rachel worked for many years in sales with JCPenney in Goldsboro. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt.
Rachel is survived by her children, Phil Edmundson and wife, Judy, of Pikeville and Vicky Taylor and husband, Danny, of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Ashley Pate and husband, Josh, Jennifer Spencer and husband, Craig, Brian Taylor and wife, April, and Melissa Smith and husband, Shane; and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Beatrice West of Pikeville and Elsie Powell of Goldsboro.
