WILLIAM DENNY WHEELER

KING -- Mr. William Denny Wheeler Sr., 69, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Feb. 27, 2011, at the Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Kevin Harris officiating.

He was born Feb. 22, 1942, in Wayne County to Frank Howard and Floy Lee Brady Wheeler. Denny was involved in sales and distribution in the millwork industry for over 30 years. Papa Denny loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, supporting their various activities and interests. He loved grandma's cooking, hunting, and spending time fishing off the North Carolina Coast.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Addie Lenora Wheeler, and a son-in-law, Ty Boles, and a brother Robert Howard Wheeler. He is survived by two children, Karen Wheeler Boles and Skeeter Wheeler; four grandchildren, Brock Wheeler and fiancée, Jessica Winesett and Lindsay Wheeler, and Taylor and Dalton Boles; special family members, Denise Helms, and Abby Harris; a sister, Cornelia (Donald) Walton of Jacksonville, and a brother, Charles Deleon (Patricia) Wheeler of Selma.

The family will receive friends following the service at the home of his daughter, Karen Boles.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the West Stokes Baseball Program, 1400 Priddy Road, King, NC 27021, Olive Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 2131 Volunteer Rd., Pinnacle, NC 27043, or the Ty Boles Scholarship Fund, c/o Newbridge Bank, 647 S. Main St., King, NC 27021.
