MARY D. GRISWOLD

Mary Delores Griswold, 72, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2011, at Mount Olive Care and Rehab in Mount Olive.
Mary was born in Wake County May 1, 1938, to Collier J. Griswold Jr. and Sally Britt Griswold.
She was a veteran of the Vietnam War, and had served her country in the United States Air Force for more than 10 years.
Mary later worked as a bulk mail technician for the United States Postal Service with more than 30 years of service.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, Feb. 18, 2011, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Tom Norris O.S.F.S. presiding.
Mary is survived by her sister, Sally Southerland; two nephews; a niece; three grandnephews; and a grandniece. She is also survived by her dear friend, Jan Foy of Pikeville.
In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Collier Joseph Griswold III.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Vincent De Paul at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church at 1000 Jefferson Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
The family will receive friends Friday immediately following the service.
