J.L. 'TOM' TOMLINSON

J.L. "Tom" Tomlinson, 74, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Tom was born in Kentucky Aug. 26, 1936, to the late James William and Amy Angeline Wells Tomlinson.

He served his country in the United States Air Force retiring with the rank of staff sergeant.

Following his military career, Tom began working, and later retired, with the Federal Aviation Administration.

He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, at 7 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, of which he was a member, with pastor Bill Rose and pastor John Howard officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service.

Interment will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park with full military honors.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Karla Allbaugh and husband, Jon, of San Diego, Calif., Marla Glaesman and husband, Peter, of Goldsboro and Jatana Vanselow of Denver, Colo.; his son, Tommy Tomlinson of Denver, Colo.; his grandchildren, Chelsea Bunn and husband, Jake, of Amarillo, Texas, Shea Glaesman and wife, Spencer, of California and Brielle Allbaugh, Elise Allbaugh, Morgan Allbaugh all of San Diego, Calif., and Tawny and Fawn Vanselow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Markie Smith Tomlinson.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the First Pentecostal Holiness Church at 1100 The First Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
