Sarah Leigh Joyner, 58, 413 Beechwood Drive, died Saturday evening.
Born in Pitt County, she was the daughter of the late Cecil A. Jr. and Elizabeth Moore Lilley.
She was a professor's assistant at the North Carolina State Veterinarian School in Raleigh.
She was a member of First Christian Church in Grifton, and a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society at Wayne Community College.
A service to celebrate the life of Sarah will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. David Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.
Family members will greet friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times will be at the home.
Mrs. Joyner is survived by her husband, William T. Joyner; two sons, William T. Joyner Jr. and wife, Kelly F. Joyner, of Clayton and Gregory T. Joyner and wife, Michelle Joyner, of Zebulon; a daughter, Angela Joyner Lane and husband, Will Lane, of Chapel Hill; a brother, Cecil "Al" Lilley of Grifton; two sisters, Linda Lilley Murphy of Knightdale and Cynthia Anne Lilley of Grifton; and three grandchildren.
