DUDLEY -- Joyce B. Tarbox, 82, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at LifeCare Hospital in Rocky Mount.
Joyce was born in Wilson County Feb. 29, 1928, to the late Stephen Thomas and Nettie Dew Boykin.
She retired from Sears as an advertising manager.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Tarbox, who passed away Jan. 3, 2011.
Joyce was also preceded in death by her sisters, Ruth Clow, Jenie Boykin and Jodie Cook, and her brothers, Keith Boykin and Grady Boykin.
Joyce is survived by a sister, Audrey Brady of Winston-Salem; stepsons, Jon Tarbox of Houston, Texas, and Mark A. Tarbox of San Antonio, Texas; several nieces; and a nephew.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2:30 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park. The celebration of Joyce's life will be conducted by her cousin, Dr. Opey Jeanes of Mount Olive.
