FAYE S. HOWELL

Edna Faye Smith Howell, 66, went to be with her Lord and savior Friday, Jan. 21, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
The family will receive friends today, Jan. 23, 2011, from 2 until 3 p.m. at Pikeville PFWB Church followed by her funeral service at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Don Sauls officiating. Interment will follow in Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.
Faye was born in Wayne County on April 19, 1944, to the late Jimmie Hill Smith and Edna Langston Smith. She retired from Bussman and was a faithful member of Pikeville PFWB Church. Faye's determination to let it be God's will was an inspiration to all who knew her. Even during her illness she never gave up or let go of her firm belief in the power of prayer. Faye will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to so many.
Faye is survived by her husband of 40 years, Kenneth Howell; her sons, Jimmie Cassady of Fremont, William Cassady and wife, Dee Dee, of Pikeville, Jerry Howell and wife, Julie, of Pikeville; her daughter, Susie Howell Dattilo of Arlington, Texas; her sister, Dr. Pauline West of Goldsboro; her brother, Paul Smith and wife, Mary Ann, of LaGrange; and 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her special friends, Mary and Shelton Benton, her daughter-in-law, Cindy Cassady and her special companion, Maggie.
