RUBERT JAMES THOMPSON

Rubert James Thompson, 94, of 1905 Salem Church Road, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Graveside services will be held today, Jan. 9, 2011, at 2:30 p.m. at Nahunta Cemetery with Pastor Danny Johnson officiating.

Mr. Thompson was born in Duplin County on Nov. 3, 1916, to the late Herman Leroy Thompson and Betty Carraway. He was married to Eunice Clayton Thompson. Rubert was a member of Goldsboro Worship Center.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his son, James M. Thompson and wife, Sheila, of Goldsboro; his daughter, Betty McClellan and husband, Gino, of Goldsboro. He is also survived by his three grandchildren, John Griffith, David Griffith and his wife, Shannon, and Gino McClellan Jr. and wife, Renee'; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his daughter, Rachel Annette Griffith, as well as his brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends today from 1 until 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
