WASHINGTON, D.C. -- James Rayford Chestnutt, 79, 193 Clinton Ave., Brooklyn, N.Y., died Tuesday at Washington Home in Washington, D.C.
Born in Sampson County, he was the son of the late Alfonza and Hannah Troublefield Chestnutt.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at C.J. Williams Conference Center in Newton Grove, with elder Fernado Geddie officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
Two siblings survive.
An inspirational wake will be held Friday from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Piney Green Free Will Baptist Church.
At other times, the family will receive friends at 4680 Suttontown Road in Faison.
Garris Funeral Home is serving the family.
