JOHN J. DOUGHERTY
John James Dougherty, 59, passed away on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Wake Medical Center.
John was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on Nov. 7, 1951, and was the son of the late John F. Dougherty and Emma Cappatino Dougherty. He had worked with Waukesha and later enjoyed volunteering his time at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, Jan. 1, 2011, at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Norris, O.S.F.S. presiding. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends after the service in the school auditorium.
John is survived by his wife, Diana Yurick Dougherty; his daughters, Anna Lanier and husband, Russell of Beulaville and Deborah Bacia and husband, John of Goldsboro; his son, John James Dougherty Jr. of Chapel Hill; and his grandchildren, Michael Dougherty, Jo Marie Bacia, Emma Lanier and Sandy Bacia.
