OSBORNE MCDONALD TRIPP

United States Air Force retired Master Sgt. Osborne McDonald Tripp, 78, passed away Sunday morning at his home.

Mr. Tripp was born in Pitt County to the late Benjamin Tripp and Nellie Joyner Tripp.

He retired as a master sergeant with the United States Air Force after 26 years of dedicated service.

Following his military career, Mr. Tripp worked with the United States Postal Service, and retired after 13 years of service.

He was a member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church.

Mr. Tripp loved Cleveland Indians baseball, traveling and his family.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate his life in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Full military honors will follow the service.

Mr. Tripp is survived by his wife, Beverly Sheets Tripp; his children, Lisa C. Tripp of Atlanta, Ga., Nicole Tripp Suggs and husband, Gerald, of Kinston, Ruth Sheets of Massachusetts, John Robert Sheets of Pikeville, Sherry Crocker of Goldsboro and JoAnn Howell of Goldsboro; his brothers, Alton Tripp of Snow Hill and Elton Tripp of Charlotte; and five grandchildren, John Suggs, Jacob Suggs, Dakota Joe Sheets, Jed Crocker and Wayland Hoggard.

The family will receive friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home.
