FRANCES MUMFORD CARTER

GOLDSBORO -- Frances Mumford Carter, 81, passed away Thursday, July 22, 2010, at her home.
Frances was born in Wayne County Nov. 27, 1928, to the late Larry Mumford Sr. and Cora Parnell Mumford.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church.
Frances was married to the late Gordon E. Carter.
She worked as a clerk at the Pikeville Drug store for 35 years.
A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Carter will be Saturday, July 24, 2010, at 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Barry Stallings officiating. Interment will be Sunday, July 25, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Pikeville Cemetery.
Frances is survived by her son, Danny Carter and wife, Jennette, of Pikeville; sisters-in-law, Mary Mumford of Charlotte and Alice McDaniel of Durham; and brother-in-law, Emmitte Carter of Goldsboro.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Larry Mumford and Carroll Mumford.
