RUSSELL BAILEY RADFORD

Russell Bailey Radford of Goldsboro, 80, passed away Monday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Russell was a major in the North Carolina National Guard.

He was born in Greene County, N.C., to the late Edward Lee and Maggie Radford.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 14, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home of Goldsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred B. Radford; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bryan and Sylvia Radford of East Bend, N.C., and the Rev. Jeffrey Radford of Goldsboro. He is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Roger Hensley of Macclesfield, N.C.; four sisters, Lois Newsome of Sanford, N.C., Mahala Wiggins of Goldsboro, Elizabeth Howell of Rosewood and Joyce Taylor of Tenants Harbor, Maine; two grandchildren, Melissa and Jarrett Bowman of East Bend, N.C., and Roger Hensley Jr. of Macclesfield, N.C.

He was predeceased by his parents; two brothers, Winifred Radford and Burgess Radford; and a sister, Hazel Hamm.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 13, 2010, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk, and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The First Pentecostal Holiness in Goldsboro.
