VIRGINIA BRANSCOME BOONE

Virginia Branscome Boone, 86, formerly of Winston-Salem, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010, at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Goldsboro.
She was born Feb. 8, 1924, in Carroll County, Va., to Lee and Lizzie Morris Branscome.
Mrs. Boone was a member of Konnoak Baptist Church since 1952.
Surviving are her husband, Jack Boone; three children, Sherry Medlin and husband, Donald, of Goldsboro, Richard Boone and wife, Susan, of Winston-Salem and Lou Anne Price and husband, Doug, of Walnut Cove; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Konnoak Baptist Church, with the Rev. John Bishop, the Rev. Michael Branscome and chaplain Butch Branscome officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 16, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek chapel, and other times at the home of Richard Boone, 1431 Ethel Drive, Winston-Salem.
