KENLY -- Debbie Phillips Norris, 2315 Memorial Church Road, died Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.

Funeral service will be held Thursday at 7 p.m. at Rosewood Worship Center, 2103 O'Berry Center Road, Goldsboro, with the Rev. Wayne Hargrove and the Rev. Tom Dorman officiating. Committal service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at Mount Horeb Presbyterian Church Cemetery, N.C. 87 south at Lisbon Road, Council, N.C.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at her residence.

Surviving are her daughters, Pam Whitfield and husband, Ben, and Nancy Norris both of Nahunta; sons, Jeffrey Norris and wife, Tammy, of Bailey and Danny Norris and wife, Dawn, of Goldsboro; brothers, Vaughn Philips and wife, Rosalyn, of Lisbon and Bill Phillips and wife, Glenda, of Clarkton; sister, Zelda Fredere and husband, Bob, of Lakeland, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Norris retired in 2000 as a supervisor from Acme United Corp.

She was a member of Piney Grove Free Will Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and was active in the ladies auxiliary and Adult Sunday school class.

She was a native of Bladen County, and was the daughter of the late Beatrice Burney Phillips and Afton Varsor Phillips.
