Franklin Delano Denning, 76, passed away Monday, June 14.

Grateful for the support of all of his family and friends, he was especially grateful for the loving care of 3HC Hospice Care, and the opportunity to be at home in his last days.

He was born in Wayne County Sept. 7, 1933, to the late John Herman and Donnie Stevens Denning. He was married to Peggy Ann Overman Denning for almost 56 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Mike and Sherry Denning, Frankye and Henry Graham, Phillip Denning and Jeanette Jackson, John D. Denning and Jill Miller Denning; four grandchildren, Kris and Amber Denning, Kelly Graham and Kasey and Mike Lane; and two great-grandchildren, Allie and Karlie Lane.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Matt Graham.

A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, June 16, at 7 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church.

The family will receive friends after Wednesday evening's service in the church fellowship hall. A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 17, at 11 a.m. in Providence United Methodist Church Cemetery.

In addition to being an avid singer and proud member of the Providence United Methodist Church choir, Frank was the first fire chief of the original Thoroughfare Volunteer Fire Department.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence United Methodist Church Choir Fund or Thoroughfare Volunteer Fire Department.
