RAYFORD CLEVELAND EDWARDS

GOLDSBORO -- Rayford Cleveland Edwards, 70, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010, at Pitt Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Rayford was born in Wayne County Nov. 17, 1939, to the late Grover Cleveland Edwards and Eva Blanche Edwards.
Rayford had worked as an assembler for Kemp Furniture Co.
Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Eddie McKeel officiating.
Rayford is survived by his wife of 22 years, Debra Whitley Edwards; his daughter, Carol Edwards of Goldsboro; his brothers, James Elmer "Buddy" Edwards of Goldsboro and Randolph William "Doodle" Edwards of Goldsboro; his K-9 friend, Lucky; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jay Bird Edwards, and his sisters, Avis Britt and Mavis Edwards.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at his home, 2713 E. Ash St., Goldsboro.
