James Anthony Diffee, age 48, died after a long illness at the home of his parents in Goldsboro Thursday, May 26, 2010.
Born Sept. 14, 1961, in Milwaukee, Wisc., he lived in Wilmington, North Carolina.
James served in the United States Army, spent many years in the restaurant business and was recently self-employed in the limousine business.
James loved the outdoors, especially the beach, and spent as much time as possible surfing and fishing.
He loved cooking for family and friends, and did so often.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James E. Diffee of Goldsboro; his sons, Liam and Shane Diffee of Wilmington; his sisters, Pamela Diffee, Pattie Diffee Marriner and husband, Rick, Penni Diffee Bland of Goldsboro and Paula Diffee McLendon of Fayetteville; nephews, Jonathan Richardson and Cody McLendon of San Marcos, Texas, and Wyatt and Mason Bland of Goldsboro; and niece, Cassi Broach of Chapel Hill. He is also survived by his ex-wife, Michelle Deal Diffee of Wilmington.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
