CLEVELAND H. GODBOLD SR.

CLINTON -- Cleveland Henry Godbold Sr., 85, 516-A Laurelwood Apt., died in Southwood Nursing Center Monday.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Clinton Cemetery, with the Rev. Charles Ray Jernigan officiating.

Born in 1924 in Harnett County, Mr. Godbold was the son of the late James Thomas and Nolia Hayes Godbold.

He was a retired car dealer.

He was a veteran of the United States Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Jernigan Godbold; two sons, Jack G. Godbold and wife, Lois, of Bladenboro and Cleveland Godbold Jr. and wife, Anna, of Roseboro; three sisters, Peggy Flanders of Charleston, S.C., Mavis Jackson of Autryville and Mary Etta Hartley of Dunn; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Daisy Cottle, and two brothers, Hoover Godbold and James "J.T." Godbold.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 9 at Royal-Hall Funeral Home.
