MOLLY C. HIGABEE

Died March 4, 2010

Molly Combs Higabee, 48, of Hopewell, Va., passed away Thursday, March 4, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Goldsboro and made her home in Hopewell for several years.

The family will receive friends today from 1 until 3 p.m. at the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morris and Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service, where a memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Jeff Raymond, pastor of First Baptist Church, Hopewell, officiating.

Molly was a Latin instructor and senior advisor at Appomattox Regional Governor School for the Arts and Technology for the past four years. Prior to her tenure at the Governors School, she taught at Colonial Heights High School and Hopewell High School. She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Tray, and was involved in many charitable activities.

Molly attended First Baptist Church, where she played the hand bells. She is survived by a daughter, Tray Norman of Hopewell, Va.; her father, Gordon T. Combs; her mother, Patsy McLamb; a brother, Jeffrey Combs, all of Goldsboro; aunts, Virginia Royall of Goldsboro, Polly Moore of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Susan Roberts, of Bath.
