MOUNT OLIVE -- Foster Holland, 87, of 148 Foster Holland Road, died Friday night at the Milford and Reba Quinn Hospice Center in Kenansville.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Hill officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service, and at the residence at other times. Committal and burial will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Wayne Memorial Park.

Mr. Holland was a long-time member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church, where he served on many committees and was actively involved.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Marie Holland of the home; two sons, Gerald Holland and wife, Linda, of Rocky Mount, and Kermit Holland and wife, Gail, of Mount Olive; a daughter, Paula Holland of Mount Olive; a sister, Ruth H. Westbrook of Mount Olive; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lela Goodson Holland; a daughter, Janet H. Jones; brothers, Glanton Holland, and Colon Holland, and a sister; Audrey Faulk.
