Para Lee Parks, daughter of the late Hampt and Mattie Austin, was born Aug. 18, 1913, in Fountain Inn, S.C. She departed this life on Feb. 18, 2010.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, 601 W. Elm St. in Goldsboro with viewing one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.

Para Lee attended the public schools of South Carolina.

She moved to Goldsboro, in 1970. She joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church soon after moving to Goldsboro and was a very devoted member until her death. She was a member of Floral Club and Sunday School. She was a very wise woman and gave valuable advice to members of Antioch, especially the young members. She loved gardening and flowers. She kept beautiful flowers in her yard as well as her home.

She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Ann Murdock of the home, Josephine Bryant of Goldsboro, Jarvis Grantham of Colorado, Bernestine Holloman of New Jersey, Alberta Bryant of Oklahoma and Carolyn (Lee) McLean of Maryland; sons, John Parks of Goldsboro and Washington Parks Jr. of Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren, Myra (Cory) of Goldsboro, Michelle of Washington, D.C., and Michael of San Antonio, Texas; several great-grandchildren; care-giver, Tina Bizzell; goddaughter, Teresa (Kirby) Hamilton; a godson, Ralph Sanders; and a host of other relatives and friends.
