JAMES E. 'SCRAM' LEWIS

Funeral for James Earl "Scram" Lewis, 405 Quail Drive, will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Greater Morning Star Holy Church in Fremont, with bishop Howard E. Artis officiating. Burial will be in Fremont Cemetery.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his wife, Laura S. Lewis of the home; seven children, Edna Reid of Fremont, Jimmy (Brenda) Lewis of Goldsboro, Steve (Sheila) Lewis and Greg (Beyanka) Lewis of Pikeville, Eric Sauls of Dumfries, Va., LaShaunda (Jason) Carter of Pikeville and Reginald (Angela) Sauls, Greenville; 13 grandchildren, Jenelle, Ronnesha (Rashad), Korie, Jalisa, Cierra, Mariya, Ashley, Tori, Eric, Jason, Amelia, Zion and Janae; three sisters, Madie (Walter) Hite of Goldsboro, Dorothy (Howard) Artis of Fremont and Ollie (Bayron) Reid of Goldsboro; five brothers, William (Marian) Lewis of New Jersey, Henry (Luretha) Lewis of Goldsboro, Alvester (Herlene) Lewis of Fremont, Cleveland (Jacqueline) Lewis of Raleigh and Leroy (Peggy) Lewis of Charlotte; an aunt, Mary Thompson of Goldsboro; an uncle, James (Bud) Hall of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The body may be viewed Tuesday from 2 to5 p.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St. in Goldsboro.

The wake will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. at Greater Morning Star Holy Church in Fremont.
