Died Nov. 23, 2009

PIKEVILLE -- Retired Sgt. Donald E. Lang, 49, 501 Carla Ann Lane, was summoned into eternal rest Monday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

His life and legacy will be celebrated Saturday at 1 p.m. at Wave of Glory Church, with apostle Edwin Newsome officiating. His mortal remains will be laid to rest with full military honors at Wayne Memorial Park.

Loving memories are treasured by his loving wife, Flossie Lee Lang, of the home; his children, Daniel Lang of Seattle, Wash., Bobby Crooms of Goldsboro and Shamairah E. Crooms Wilson of Goldsboro; his mother, Annie Mae Best of New Bern; spiritual parents, apostles Edwin and Catherine Newsome of Goldsboro; his siblings, minister Robert Lang and Thomas Lang, both of Kinston, Carolyn Land Sander, Mary Sherman and Mamie Brunson, all of Goldsboro, minister Elmon Smith and pastor Wennie (Earl) Shy, both of New Bern, and pastor Carrie (James) Sawyer of Bayboro; and a host of other relatives and friends, including the Spirit Filled Church family.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at McIntyre Funeral Home Ministries of Goldsboro.

The family will receive friends at the residence where they will also assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
