PINE KNOLL SHORES -- J. C. Bell, 71, died Tuesday at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at the family home at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Mr. Bell was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Morehead City.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, John Calvin Bell, Jr. of Raleigh; stepsons, Dr. G.M. Conekin and wife, LuLu, of Jacksonville, Stephen Conekin and wife, Caroline, of New Bern and Jeff Conekin of Spartanburg, S.C.; brother, Charlie Bell of Newport; and five grandchildren, Madison Bell, Ivy Conekin, Drew Conekin, Blake Conekin and Camden Conekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, North Carolina Eastern Area, P.O. Box 1407, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
