"How shall they hear without a Preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent." Romans 10:13-14

The Rev. David Michael "Mike" Grady, 65, went to be with the Lord he served so faithfully Monday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be tonight at 7 at Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church. Interment will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Hill Family Cemetery near the home.

Mike was born in Wayne County Oct. 2, 1944, to Dell Whitley Grady King of Mount Olive and the late Jack Larma Grady.

He was ordained to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ June 21, 1977, and did so for 34 years.

His dedication to serving God was admired by all. The love in his life was God, family and friends. Even during his illness, he never gave up or let go of his firm belief in the power of prayer. Mike's determination to let it be God's will was inspiration to all who knew him. He will be missed by many.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mike is survived by his daughter, Michelle Grady Gurley and husband, Chris, of Goldsboro; his son, David Michael "Mike" Grady Jr. and wife, Tracey, of Goldsboro; his sisters, Linda Vinson and husband, Jimmy, of Seven Springs and Annette Rouse of Seven Springs; his stepbrother, Mike King and wife, Carolyn, of Mount Olive; his brother-in-law, David Ray Tyndall and wife, Pat, of Raleigh; one aunt, Betsy Ann Whitley of Goldsboro; his wonderful grandchildren, Drew Grady, Jackson Grady, Morgan Gurley, Caroline Gurley and Madison Gurley; and several special nieces and nephews.
